My Kate Bush signed goodies
Jun. 29th, 2006 | 04:06 pm
Anyway, through serendipitous circumstances, I received a signed copy of Aerial, Kate's latest album back around Thanksgiving. It was actually signed by Kate the day of release.

In May of this year, as a reward for a job well done, I got a signed Irish Night of the Swallow picture sleeve (with disc, of course!). This is a very rare Kate Bush collectible - in fact, it is so rare that Kate herself does not have a copy and my friend had to go to some expense and effort to obtain one.

Kate doesn't sign many things at all these days, so I'm very fortunate to have these and fully realize how lucky I am. They are both cherished items.
If anyone reads this, leave a note.

What ambrosia is entering my ears now?: "Detachable Penis" King Missile
Remember when Lorena Bobbitt severed John Bobbitt's penis? Then threw it out her car window as she sped away? That was front page news for weeks, and the resulting trial was a sensation.
Well, it seems we're becoming jaded to severed, ripped off, mauled, folded, spindled or mutilated penises in this world. It happens a lot now, but I can't remember the last front page new story on it, or the last well-publicized trial. It's a damn sad day when having one's Johnson destroyed becomes so commonplace we merely say "ouch" to ourselves and go on to the next article.
Check it:

Ontario Man Nearly Has Testicles Ripped Off
This is a quick Google - there are many more. I'm not sure where to go with this, other than to say to all men out there - cast iron willy protectors. Especially when you are sleeping, as that seems to be when most enraged women choose to strike.

Well, the day of the Number of the Beast. I'm still waiting for a lake of fire to open up, and required tattoos on my right hand or forehead. So far, it hasn't happened, but the day is still young, I say.
Saw this article which posits that the number should actually be 616. Not really sure what that means, other than June 1, 2006 should have been more climactic than it actually was. I can barely even remember June 1st.

Here's a picture of an album which proves without a doubt that Satan is, indeed, real. The Louvin Brothers wouldn't lie to us. And this is only Part 1 - does anyone have Part 2? Is it a trilogy?

How is srtmr-63 feeling now?: to show you the way
What ambrosia is entering my ears now?: Yes, please
1. Hounds of Love - Kate Bush.
Particularly "The Ninth Wave", on side 2. Remember when albums had sides? You don't? Get off my lawn, you young whippersnapper!
2. Tilt - Scott Walker.
It'll blow your fucking mind. I can promise you you've never heard ANYTHING like this, and there is nothing else like this out there.
3. Spirit of Eden - Talk Talk.
No, this ain't your "It's My Life" Talk Talk, and as much as I like that stuff, this is really, really good shit. Give it a few dozen listens; you'll thank me later.
4. Haunted - Poe.
This is one of the best albums made by anyone in the past 20 years. Hear it, feel it, become an Angry Psycho and lament the legal troubles that have thus far prevented her from putting out more work.
5. Chris Bell - I Am the Cosmos.
A posthumous release by one of the original members of Big Star. It's heartbreaking, it's incomplete, it's a damn shame the guy died. At least he didn't choke on his own vomit, or anyone else's. A simple auto accident.
Allright, you are now indebted to me for life. Let me know what you think. There are certainly other albums you should hear before you are interred, and I'll make this a running feature.
